UGA Back Caleb King Ruled Ineligible

Running back played high school ball in Gwinnett.

Caleb King has been ruled academically ineligible to play football for the University of Georgia this coming fall.

King played high school football at Parkview and Greater Atlanta Christian School.

Coach Mark Richt made the announcement Friday in a press release that King will not be able to play for the entire season.

"It's unfortunate Caleb will not be with us this season," Richt said. "We wish him the best in whatever he decides to do; however, we have to move forward and this will provide more opportunities for others to step up."

King was a star running back for Parkview his sophomore and junior seasons. He transferred to Greater Atlanta Christian School before his senior year, but suffered a broken leg that kept him from displaying his skills on the field. He was recruited by every major school in the SEC but chose to go to UGA.

King was red-shirted his first season in Athens and had to play behind Knowshon Moreno. Moreno was drafted by the Broncos, allowing King to get more playing time. Injuries, off the field issues, and now his ineligibility plagued King since.

King rushed for 430 yards and two touchdowns last season.
