Recap: Spartans, Blue Devils Announce College Commitments

Norcross High and Greater Atlanta Christian had nine outstanding football players sign to colleges on National Signing Day.

Wednesday was National Signing Day, and Greater Atlanta Christian and Norcross High both had players sign their letters of intent to major colleges.

At Greater Atlanta Christian, three players signed during the 7:30 a.m. ceremony in the Student Family Center. Head coach Tim Hardy introduced the three players, who were:

  • Andrew Lewis (center), who signed to Virginia Military Institute
  • Peter Whiteneck (wide receiver), who signed to the University of Pennsylvania
  • Daniel Yoon (offensive lineman), who signed to St. Anselm College

Norcross High School held its National Signing Day at 3 p.m. in the school auditorium, which was filled to the rim with audience members. Introduced by head coach Keith Maloof, the six players signed were: 

  • Joseph Ledford (offensive lineman), who signed to Georgetown University
  • Tommy Tate (linebacker), who signed to Western Carolina University
  • Jahmal Jones (defensive end), who signed to Middle Tennessee State University
  • Shon Akins (cornerback), who signed to Middle Tennessee State University
  • Joseph Wilber (quarterback), who signed to University of West Georgia
