One of two things have to happen for the backup quarterback to get a chance to showcase his talents.

Either the starter gets injured or the game is a blowout.

Fortunately, it was the latter for Greater Atlanta Christian and junior David McTier.

McTier replaced starter Delano Spencer in Friday's 62-8 win over Clarkston and responded by passing for two touchdowns and rushing for another. He finished with 56 rushing yards.

McTier, who also plays defensive back, added an interception return for a touchdown.

Other top performers:

Delano Spencer, quarterback: The junior completed 9 of 10 passes for 137 yards and four touchdowns.

Jeremy McGriff, receiver: The senior had receiving touchdowns.

Clay Metzger, receiver: The senior had two receiving touchdowns.

George Thomas, fullbackr: The senior had one receiving touchdown.

Pete Whiteneck, receiver: The junior had one receiving touchdown.

Joey Schrader, running back: The sophomore had eight carries for 32 yards and one touchdown.

Jared Chapple, tight end: The senior had two receptions for 44 yards and had a blocking grade of 88 percent.

Jonathan Ford, defensive back: The senior had one interception

Tony Jones Jr, linebacker: The junior had two sacks and three tackles.

Kris Smith, defensive back: The junior had two sacks and three tackles.

Alvin Kamara, running back: Rushed 14 times for 122 yards in a 41-14 loss at Peachtree Ridge.

Tanner Maloof, linebacker: Had nine total tackles, two tackles for losses and one caused fumble.

Isaiah Hinsley, defensive lineman: Eight tackles, three tackles for losses, one pass breakup.

Martavius Edwards, defensive back: Six tackles, one pass breakup, one interception.

Nathan Robinson, lineman: Was named the team’s scout offense player of the week.
