The Berkmar Patriots defeated the Meadowcreek Mustangs 31-8 Friday at Meadowcreek in a game that was filled with penalties.

The Patriots used a fumble recovery that led to an offensive touchdown and an interception return for another TD to build a 13-0 lead.

A sack of Berkmar's quarterback for a safety made it 13-2 at halftime. Berkmar poured in on in the second half to improve to 1-1.

Meadwocreek, which lost starting quarterback Patrick Mills to a serious ankle injury, fell to 0-2 and lost its 30th consecutive game.
