at Buford: The Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans are among the elite teams in Class AA football. The only problem is that Buford, GAC’s region rival and opponent this Friday, is one of the best teams in the state, regardless of classification. The Wolves have won eight state championships, including four in a row in Class AA. GAC has been a perennial playoff team, and, unfortunately, a frequent Buford casualty. The Spartans are 2-14 all-time against Buford and have lost 11 in a row to the Wolves. Both teams are undefeated (Buford is 8-0; GAC is 7-0) entering Friday’s game with similarly lopsided results in the book — both have scored more than 60 points in each of their past two games. One thing that jumps off of stat sheets: Buford has allowed only 35 total points and has four shutouts; GAC’s defense allows 18.6 points per game, with no shutouts. It's hard to pick against a program with Buford's pedigree. Buford 34, GAC 28.

at : The previous two weeks for the Norcross Blue Devils are best to be forgotten. Two big Region 7-AAAAA matchups resulted in two losses and dropped the talented Blue Devils (5-2, 2-2) from first place down to a three-way tie for third. Look ahead and not back, Blue Devil fans, because you still have a team that can create some havoc in the playoffs. The third seed is the most likely scenario for Norcross, which would have to finish with a better region record than North Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge to finish above those teams in the standings. Meadowcreek looks destined to finish 0-10 again. Norcross 48, Meadowcreek 6.
