"Miles of Joy" Pug Walk & Picnic Fundraiser

The Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption, Inc. (SEPRA) sponsors the third annual “Miles of Joy” Pug Walk & Picnic fundraiser to raise money to help any and all pugs and pug mixes in need.  “Miles of Joy” takes place on a paved path at Norcross’s Pinckneyville Park and encompasses two miles.  Registration, at the Family Pavilion near the Dog Park & walking track, begins at 9:30 a.m., and the Pug Walk commences at 10 a.m.

The price of registration includes one free event t-shirt.  Also, for the first time this year, included in the price of registration is a picnic lunch, served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burger/dogs with “the works” (various toppings and condiments) and drinks.  Also, potential adopters can peruse a foster corral and meet some of the foster pugs; however, no adoptions will take place at the event.

Pre-register online at www.rescuepug.com or through the mail with a completed Registration Form (downloaded from www.rescuepug.com) and fee to: SEPRA, PO Box 1329, Suwanee, GA 30024.  All donations will be collected prior to the walk on 4/14/12.  In addition to registration fees, SEPRA hopes to raise money by having participants get family, friends, neighbors and coworkers to sponsor their pug(s) by pledging dollars for each mile walked.  Also, anyone can sponsor foster pugs online at www.rescuepug.com and walk in their honor.

All participating pets (all dogs are welcome, not just pugs) must be well-behaved, non-aggressive, current on rabies vaccine and leashed at all times.  SEPRA requests that participating people bring water and water bowls as well as waste disposal bags for their pets.  For more information, call 770-887-9741 or email Tori Mills at tori@rescuepug.com.
