Basketball Wrap-Up: Norcross, GAC Take Home State Titles
The Greater Atlanta Christian boys won the Class AA title while both teams for Norcross claimed the titles for Class AAAAAA.
It was a successful weekend for basketball teams in Norcross-area schools.
On Friday, Greater Atlanta Christian won its third boys basketball state title in four years with a 69-52 win over Bleckley County in the Class AA finals at the Macon Centreplex. The championship was the sixth Georgia High School Association boys hoops title in school history.
For the Class AAAAAA title, the Lady Blue Devils beat North Gwinnett 63-42. The Saturday win is the Norcross girls' third GHSA championship in four seasons.

After the girls game, the Norcross boys completed an amazing sweep with the defeat of Hillgrove 60-48. Player Brandon Goodwin scored 22 points to lead Norcross, which pulled away late after the game had been tight most of the way.
