Women on a Mission: GAC Moms Unite Over Lunch

The Ladies Association for Christian Education (L.A.C.E.) has been a strong school supporter for decades.

The Ladies Association for Christian Education (L.A.C.E.) is a group of women that shares not only the spirit of friendship, but also a passion for developing  their community, children and schools. Since their founding, they've raised a cool $2 million to support their schools.

In 1962, the original group of women including, Emma Lene Phillips, Lucille Calahan, Jacqueline Long and Kate Walton, formed L.A.C.E. These women had a common dream to find a way to promote and support Christian education. In 1968, the planning, fundraising and prayer became a reality and Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) opened its doors.

Over the last 50 years, the goals and dreams of the L.A.C.E. organization have remained the same. Financially supporting GAC remains the organizations top priority.  What has changed over the years is the number of members the organization has. With most of the parents and faculty of GAC being members, L.A.C.E. is rich with devoted volunteers that donate endless hours of time, talents and efforts to support the activities that it hosts throughout the year.

L.A.C.E. fundraising events include two used uniform sales per year, a school wide calendar, cookbooks, commemorative bricks, book fair, plant sale and the most anticipated event of the year, The Frog Hollow Fall Festival.  The festival is an annual GACS tradition and is open to the public. With carnival rides, games, pony rides and a talent show to name a few of the activities. L.A.C.E. also hosts parent-child events and faculty-staff luncheons. Once a month, members come together for coffee and fellowship.

Greater Atlanta Christian School is truly blessed to have this organization. The hard work of volunteers past and present has paid off.  L.A.C.E. has risen over $2 million for GAC since its founding.
