Turn Rewards Points Into Cash for NCSP

There's a new way to donate paper and pens to the Norcross Cluster Schools Partnership.

The Norcross Cluster Schools Partnership is implementing a new initiative where potential donators can help the organization through rewards points.

NCSP is now asking its supporters to turn their credit card rewards points into gift cards payable to the nonprofit. Through the gift cards, NCSP would be able to purchase needed supplies for area schools throughout the year at Office Depot, which has offered to give deep discounts.

"Naturally, all the groups and businesses that are collecting school supplies would prefer to be able to distribute supplies to all the school children when school opens," said Elaine Fuerst, a volunteer for NCSP who also spearheaded the reward points initiative. "Realistically, when you look at the projected number of composition books, paper and pencils, not every child will still wind up with all the supplies needed for the entire school year."

Fuerst also pointed out that credit card rewards are often something most people wouldn't miss, anyway.

"Points, like frequent flyer miles, often gather dust," she said. "Why not let the points you've earned spread joy to the school children in our own neighborhood?"

Those interested in the reward points program can have the cards sent to: Norcross Cluster Schools Parternship, 40 Technology Parkway South, Suite 250, Norcross, GA 30092.

NCSP is a 501(c)(3) organized under the Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation Fund.
