Tommy Welch Approved as Meadowcreek Principal

Welch had been interim since former principal Bob Jackson passed away in July.

The Gwinnett Board of Education approved Tommy Welch as principal at Meadowcreek High School Thursday night at its regular meeting in Suwanee.

Welch had served as the school's interim replacement for Bob Jackson, who passed away suddenly in July of this year. He had been an assistant principal under Jackson.

Welch began his Gwinnett teaching career as a social studies teacher at the school in 2003. He moved into the assistant principal role in 2006. He holds both a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Buffalo. He has attended Piedmont College for his specialist's degree and is currently pursuing a doctorate in philosophy from Mercer University.Β
