Thousands of residents east of Buford Highway will soon become a part of the City of Norcross--and at first it appeared that one single vote decided the annexation.
With both of the precincts reporting, 50.3 percent voted in favor of coming into the city while 49.7 pecent voted against it.
The total number of votes cast at ballots was 165, with 83 voting in favor and 82 voting against the measure.
Later, the county added five more absentee ballots--all in favor of the annexation. That changed the count to 88 in favor and 82 opposed.
