State of the City Address Tonight

The 2011-2012 State of the City address is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hyundai's headquarters, and it promises to be equally informative and entertaining.
Even though it may sound boring that Mayor Bucky Johnson will discuss what the city accomplished last year and its vision for the upcoming year, it doesn't mean he can't do it with a little pizzazz.
"It'll be typical Norcross style," said Downtown Manager Tixie Fowler, assuring that it's not a Powerpoint presentation. "We're doing something fun and creative."

With keeping the specific details underwraps, Fowler revealed that there will be live music written and performed by a local songwriter and videos produced by local film makers and videographers.
Noteworthy volunteers also will be honored with a proclamation from the mayor.

Hyundai Construction Equipment USA, which opened its international headquarters in Norcross last fall, will host the event with its state-of-the-art facility. It's located at 6100 Atlantic Boulevard, across from Stripling Elementary School.
