Norcross Weekend Planner: Outdoor Nativity, Live Music and More

Check out what's happening Christmas weekend around the Norcross area.

It's Christmas weekend, and if you are brave enough to handle the busy holiday streets, see what's in store in the Norcross area.

On Thursday, head to 45 South Cafe for musician Kate Wright. Grab a drink and listen to the folk/blues/jazz singer and guitarist play originals and holiday tunes. The music starts at 6:30 p.m.

Friday is the last day for Sparkle!'s Santa photos and free horse-drawn carriage rides in downtown Norcross. Sit in Santa's lap at 45 South and catch a ride from the horse in front of Taste of Britain any time between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. for the last time this year

If you're looking for more holiday cheer, go no further than the Pinckneyville Community Center for a Christmas Carnival and Toy Drive. Benefiting Lift Up Atlanta and homeless children, the day will be filled with everything carnival-like: clowns, magicians, jugglers, face painters, balloon twisters, family activities and games, cotton candy, nachos, and more. Photos with Santa also will be available and there will be a silent auction. Admission is $6 and the event starts at 2 p.m.

Looking for a last-minute gift? What about a dog or a cat? Atlanta Animals Alive is hosting the first annual Home for the Holidays Super Pet Adoption on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the North Atlanta Trade Center. Check out more than 200 adoptable cats and dogs from local rescue groups and shelters, in addition to pet-related vendors, trainer Q&As, pet photos, low-cost microchipping and rabies vaccines, face painting and more.
