Norcross Voters: Precinct-by-Precinct Breakdown

The 2012 presidential election for Norcross differed greatly from the 2008 presidential election. In the John McCain-Barack Obama race, four of Norcross' 12 precincts voted for McCain. This year, all the precincts voted for Obama.

These Norcross numbers differ from the rest of Gwinnett County, too, whose majority went to Gov. Mitt Romney. Out of 295,560 total votes for Gwinnett, Romney had 159,563 people vote for him, giving him 54 percent of the vote, while Obama received 131,879 votes and 45 percent. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson received 4,118 votes, or 1 percent for Gwinnett.

A handful of precincts received more than 70 percent of the vote in Obama's favor. But the precinct with the largest percentage of Democratic votes was Precinct 123, which votes at Iglesia Bautista Nueva Jerusalen. Out of 1,398 total votes, Obama received 1,106 votes (79.11 percent) and Romney received 283 votes (20.24 percent).

The precinct with the most Republican votes was Precinct 87, which votes at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Romney had 719 votes (47.02 percent) and Obama had 778 votes, prevailing at 50.88 percent. A total of 1,529 people voted at the precinct. This precinct also had the closest race in the Norcross area.

Which precinct had the most votes for Johnson?

Johnson, the presidential candidate on the Libertarian ticket, got a handful or more votes at every precinct in the Norcross area. The precinct with the highest percentage of votes for him, though, was Precinct 87 again at St. Patrick's. He received 2.09 percent of the vote with 32 out of 1,529 votes.
