Norcross Policy Work Session, Special Called Meeting Tonight

Monday's session looks like it may be a short one.

The Norcross City Council will meet Monday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m. for its last policy work session of 2012.

A special called meeting also will take place in conjunction with the session. The meeting concerns a one-time incentive pay of $153,000 for city employees.

In the second floor conference room of Norcross City Hall, the council will discuss the following agenda items:

-A special use permt for the Petco 5K Dogs-in-the-Parks event

-Approving the bid award on replacing city hall's current six-car parking lot to 18 spaces

-A proposal for Lionheart Theatre to take over the Norcross Art Center's lease on The Nest

-Adding gateway signage and a downtown digital reader board to Norcross city limits, as discussed in previous meetings

-Addressing the expired terms on the Preservation Tree Board, the Norcross Housing Authority, the Downtown Development Authority and the Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District

-Upgrading the area enclosed by Skin Alley, College Street, Jones Street and Holcomb Bridge Road. The proposal would be a "comprehensive look at adding parking, additional retail, a pass-through to College Street, and possible rest areas, as well as a recommendation as to what should be done with the surrounding historic properties," according to the agenda.
