Mayor Takes on New Role with Transportation Roundtable

Bucky Johnson stepped down from his voting position on a regional committee, but will still be a non-voting chairman.

Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson resigned from his role as a voting member of an executive committee so that Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed could slip into the spot. Now Johnson will be the non-voting chairman of the committee, which will create a list of regional transportation projects that might funded by a referendum in Aug. of 2012.

Johnson said in a release that while he was honored to be on the five-member committee, he thinks its better to have balance in terms of regional representation.

The committee will now be comprised of Mayor Reed, Decatur Mayor Bill Floyd, Kennesaw Mayor Mark Mattews, Henry County Chairman B.J. Mathis and Douglas County Chairman Tom Worthan.
