Income Taxes Due at Midnight

A few post offices will have extended hours--but not in Norcross.

Life is no fun without a little deadline pressure, right? Today is Tax Day. Your income taxes must be postmarked today—or they are late.

The Norcross Post Office at 265 Mitchell Road will keep normal hours today. It opens at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.  The same is true for the Rockbridge Post Office at 4771 Britt Rd in Norcross, which is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Taxpayers needing a little extra time may mail their returns at other nearby locations. The Lawrenceville North office, located at 1557 Buford Dr. in Lawrenceville, will remain open until 7 p.m., and the Boggs Road Postal Store, located at 1605 Boggs Rd. in Duluth, will stay open until midnight.

Typically, tax returns are due on April 15. This year, the deadline has been extended to April 18 in observation of Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia. The State of Georgia has also extended its filing deadline to April 18 to coincide with the federal due date.
