Greg McFarland is challenging incumbent Craig Newton for a seat on the Norcross City Council, which will be held on Tues., Nov. 8 at City Hall. (Mayor Bucky Johnson and Councilmember Charlie Riehm are running unopposed for another term.) Norcross Patch asked the candidates to answer five questions about themselves and their positions.

GREG MCFARLAND: 
Born and raised in Norcross
Both parents held the Norcross Council position
Married and active member of the Sheffield Forest Neighborhood Watch

Employment 
Worked in the Golf Course industry for 18 years: Eight years at Georgia Turf and Tractor with multiple responsibilities
Head Equipment Technician at Monroe Country Club in Monroe, Ga. 
Worked at many other exclusive golf courses

1997 Graduate Lake City Community College, Associates degree Golf course operations
Golf Course Technician certification
Currently completeing an associate's degree in Criminal justice at Gwinnett Technical College with a specialization in community affiars
