Early Voting Continues For Gwinnett BOC Chairman

About 300 people have cast their votes in the special election to fill vacant position.

Early voting continues this week in the race for chair of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners. The  is scheduled for March 15.

Four candidates –  – are seeking election.

Absentee voting coordinator Lori Hackney said about 300 people have cast ballots so far during the early voting period. Approximately 500 absentee ballots have been mailed, Hackney added.

Early voting began Feb. 14 and continues this week at the Gwinnett County Elections Office, 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200, Lawrenceville. The polls are open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Next week, advanced voting begins. During the advanced voting period, polls will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The advanced voting period runs from March 7-11.

On March 15, voters will cast ballots at their assigned precinct. A runoff, if necessary, will be held.
