City of Norcross Annexation Bill Passes Senate

The bill is sent on to next steps.

A bill to change the city limits of Norcross passed the Senate late last week, sending it briefly back to the House then on to Gov. Nathan Deal’s desk.

House Bill 579 amends the city limits of Norcross, annexing in an area along Mitchell Road, bound by I-85 and Jimmy Carter Boulevard to the south and west. The residents of the proposed area would vote on the annexation measure on Nov. 1, 2011 if the governor approves it.

According to the legislative record, the bill passed April 14, 50-0 on a local consent calendar.
