City Council To Consider Land Acquistion, Special Use Permits Monday

Also on the Norcross City Council agenda is a request to expand the Gwinnett CID. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in city hall.

Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson and the City Council will gather downtown Monday, June 3, for its monthly work session and council meeting.

The work session, which sets the agenda for the evening, will take place in the second floor conference room at 6:30 p.m., and the city council meeting will follow at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place in Norcross City Hall at 65 Lawrenceville Street.

At the 7 p.m. meeting, the items on the agenda include:

  • A public hearing on the land acquisition of property located at 250 Pinnacle Way. The parcel includes a retention pond, walking trail and office building. City Council discussed the possible acquisition at it's May 20 Policy work Session.
  • Council will consider a Special Use Permit to operate an Adult Daycare business at 5390 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. The request was discussed at the Policy Work Session on May 20.
  • Council will also consider a Special Use Permit to operate a Place of Worship at 2900 Cole Court, which is zoned M-1. Planning and Zoning has recommended denying the request due to inadequate parking spaces.
  • The mayor and council will also consider the expansion of the Gwinnett Village CID which adds additional parcels to the district but does not increase the boundary size of the community improvement district.
