City Council Meeting Tonight

The session starts at 7 p.m.

The City Council and Mayor will meet tonight, March 5, at city hall for a work policy meeting and regular session. The session starts at 7 p.m.

Items on the agenda include rezoning for 5854 Goshen Springs Road; demolishing the brick building at 87 S. Peachtree Street; and amending the waste management code enforcement for townhouses and condos.

Also on the agenda is a resolution to promote the growth of trees in the city by funding the Norcross Tree Initiative. According to the PDF, the initiative is offering to plant one tree for the first hundred residents who submit an application and $50.Β

The work policy session will take place in the second floor conference room at 6:30 p.m. and the regular council meeting with occur in the council chambers on the first floor of City Hall at 7 p.m.

Last month, the was a hot topic which caused many citizens to come forward and speak. The council had planned to vote on the rezoning during the meeting, but because of new proposals from Family Dollar developers that have been presented to the Planning and Zoning Board, the vote has been stalled until April at the earliest.
