10 Metro Counties, Including Gwinnett, Convening at Town Hall Meeting

The event, scheduled for Saturday, is to discuss transportation issues, growth and the future of the Metro Atlanta area.

The Civic League for Regional Atlanta is inviting the public to join a citizen conversation on transportation, growth and the future of Metro Atlanta.

Get a Move On, a 10-County Town Hall, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at Loudermilk Center, 40 Courtland Street NE in downtown Atlanta. This organization, involving 64 cities, pulls together residents from the metro area's rural, suburban and urban areas to air out the issues surrounding next year's penny tax referendum for transportation projects.

According to a press release, participants will hear presentations about growth patterns and projections for the next 30 years; details about the Transportation Investment Act and the referendum; and a talk on what it means to be a region. Attendees will get a chance to share their insights and opinions, with the help of clicker technology and small-group discussions.
