Woman Duped in Car Repair Scam in Norcross

Inside the Police Reports: She said two men were supposed to fix some scratches on her car for $50, but she claims they only caused more damage.

A Lilburn woman claimed she was deceived after two men said they would repair her car and they allegedly didn't.

On Friday, July 6, she was at the 2200 block of Beaver Ruin Road in the city of Norcross when she noticed three scratches on the left side of her Honda, she told Norcross Police.

While she observed the damage, two men approached her and offered to fix the damage for $50. She agreed to the service because she "wasn't thinking," according to the police report.

Not only did the men not fix the scratches, she said, they caused more damage to the paint and finish. Additionally, they charged her $100 since she didn't have $50 on the spot.

She described the suspects as eastern European men who were driving a tan-colored SUV. The telephone number they provided didn't appear to be a real number, either, she added.
