Three Arrested for Kidnapping, Theft in Norcross Area

Suspects allegedly choked and assaulted a woman because of an ex-boyfriend.

One woman and two men were arrested last week for false imprisonment, kidnapping, motor vehicle theft and aggravated assault, all because of an ex-boyfriend.

On Jan. 11 around 11:07 p.m., Gwinnett County Police officers met with a 19-year-old woman in response to a carjacking that took place at Indian Trail Apartments at 1100 Indian Trail Lilburn Road in unincorporated Norcross.

The report notes that the woman was upset and crying and had red marks around her neck.

She explained to police how two Norcross area brothers, 18 and 17, and an 18-year-old woman had assaulted her in the apartment complex and drove away in her car. The eldest brother had called her for a ride to the complex so that he could help a friend with a car. She told police that she needed gas money, and he promised to pay for her fuel in return.

She picked them up at the woman's apartment and drove them to the complex, according to the police report. When they arrived, everyone stepped out of the car, and the eldest brother grabbed the victim.

He dragged her into the nearby woods in between two apartment buildings and told her that he knew she was dating the ex-boyfriend of the 18-year-old woman, who was with them. He asked the victim if she liked him, but she said she didn't want to talk about it.

She said it angered the man, so he began choking her with his hands around her neck. She was able to free herself and run to her car, but the suspect caught up with her and took her keys so that she couldn't drive off.

She attempted to run toward the apartment building, she said, but then the younger brother grabbed her. Again, she broke free, but suddenly the ex-girlfriend came at her with a long and skinny filet knife in hand. The victim ran again toward the building and started knocking on doors for help.

The suspects got into her car and left the scene, with her purse and cell phone still inside.

The officer on scene collected the suspects' information from the victim and obtained 18 warrants for the three suspects. With 15 of them being felonies and the other three as misdemeanors, the warrants include theft by taking, motor vehicle theft, kidnapping, false imprisonment and aggravated assault.

According to Gwinnett Detention records, the woman was arrested Thursday, Jan. 12, and the two brothers were arrested the following day.
