Taxi Driver Ordered to Take off Pants During Robbery

Inside the Police Reports: The armed robbery took place off Mitchell Road in Norcross.

A taxi driver told police he was ordered to take off his pants during an armed robbery in the city of Norcross this month.

According to the Norcross Police report, the driver said he picked up a man from Stone Mountain Inn and Suites in Tucker around 6:30 a.m. one Tuesday in December. He drove the passenger to a set of residential units on the 2200 block of Mitchell Road, where he stated the cost of the fare.

The passenger exited the taxi and walked into one of the units, but after five minutes, he didn't return, so the driver knocked on the door. Another man answered the door, so the driver explained that money was owed for the cab ride.

He was told to go into the home so that he could speak with the passenger, but then the man at the door pulled out a gun and said, "Give me the money."

The driver told him he didn't have any money, so he was instructed to take off his pants. His pants were searched, and the suspect also decided to look through his car for money, too.

The suspect obtained the taxi driver's money, driver's license, gate card key and wallet, and the victim was given his clothes back. They took a picture of him, too, before the driver got back into his car and drove toward Brook Hollow Parkway to call police.

While the man was rummaging through the victim's car, a woman was watching them and she told him not to contact the police or she would say he tried to touch her.

The victim told police that the two men were Hispanic and the woman was black.
