Carjacker Steals Mustang as Driver Rummages Through Trunk

A man driving in the Norcross area pulled over for only a moment to get something out of his trunk, but apparently it was enough time for someone to steal his $32,000 Mustang.

A man's car was reportedly carjacked in the Norcross area after he pulled over to get something from the back of his car.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, a 46-year-old man from Lithonia was traveling east on Graves Road past Osborne Drive in unincorporated Norcross around 7:30 p.m. one recent evening.

With his car still running, the man pulled over to get some CDs out of his trunk. As he was rummaging through the trunk, someone suddenly jumped into the driver's seat and sped off toward South Norcross Tucker Road.

The incident happened so fast that the trunk was still open as the car zoomed away, and he could only see a "quick shadow" of the suspect.

The victim told police that his car is a black 2008 Ford Mustang with a white trim around the bottom, 20-inch chrome wheels and tinted windows. The car is apparently worth $32,000.
