Six People Displaced After House Fire in Buford

Cause of the fire is unknown.

No injuries were reported, but six people -- including three children -- were displaced as a result of a mid-morning house fire in Buford.

Fire crews were dispatched to a two-story, single-family home in the 3100 block of Seneca Farm Lane at 10:13 a.m. on Nov. 15. Firefighters arrived at the scene eight minutes later and noticed heavy smoke and fire on the second floor and in the attic. Crews entered the home with firefighting hose lines and had the blaze under control at 10:54 a.m.

"After the fire was extinguished, crews performed property conservation to preserve the undamaged contents," Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services public information officer Lt. Colin Rhoden said in a released statement.

The home sustained heavy fire damage to the room above the garage on the second floor and in the attic, Rhoden indicated.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
