Suspects in Restaurant Stickup Share Similarities With Other Norcross Robberies

Inside the Police Reports: All incidents involved three armed Hispanic male suspects who wore all black and left each scene on foot. One of the suspects also had a backpack to carry the cash from the robberies.

A week after an ice cream shop and gas station in unincorporated Norcross said they were robbed, another armed robbery by a similar set of suspects was reported around the corner.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the most recent incident occurred at 10 p.m. Feb. 16 at China Cooks Restaurant, located at 1250 Tech Dr. in Suite 230. The victims, a family of four ranging from 66 to 19 years old, told officers that three armed men entered the business and robbed them at gunpoint while they were working behind the counter.

Two of the suspects approached the counter and demanded money. The family gave cash from the register and the son's wallet to the suspect carrying a backpack. The third man stood by the front door to act as a lookout.

The three suspects left the area on foot. No one else was in the restaurant at the time of the incident.

The scenario mirrors two other recent robberies that were reported Feb. 9 at La Mejor de Michoacan, an ice cream shop off Pirkle Road, and Simon Enterprises Service Station off Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

All three incidents involved three young Hispanic male suspects who were armed and wearing all black clothing and face coverings. One of the suspects always had a backpack to carry the cash in, and all the suspects always left on on foot.

Additionally, the ice cream shop robbery had the third suspect act as the lookout at the door, similar to the restaurant incident.
