Prostitution Ring Has Ties to Norcross Area Home

The case is being tried in federal courts.

Eight people have been charged with running a prositution ring out of metro Atlanta homes, including one in the Norcross area.

Jose Miguel Almonte, Luz M. Gutierrez and Maria D. Rodriguez Herrera have been indictated as the "ringleaders" of the operation, according to a report in the Gwinnett Daily-Post. The operation involved bringing girls from Florida and Alabama to work as prostitutes and also hiring "housekeepers" to look after the home, collect the cash and protect the women, according to the article.

Two homes in Marietta and one off Colony Park Drive in an unincorporated area of Norcross were linked to the case. The operation had allegedly been going on for a little over one year.
