Power Outages in Norcross from Exploded Regulator

Norcross Power replaced an exploded regulator that left people with off-and-on power last night and this morning.

Many residents of the city of Norcross experienced frequent intermittent power outages late last night and early this morning, but officials say the problem is mostly fixed.

Steve Gaines of Norcross Power said that the outages were the result of a regulator going bad in the substation. “We didn’t know that regulator was bad until this morning when it exploded,” said Gaines.

He said that the blow didn’t cause anything to go up in flames, but it certainly caused issues.

The regulator has since been replaced. “As of 8 a.m. this morning, everything should be fixed,” he said, though there have still been reports of some issues.
