Police Seek Suspects in Metro PCS Robberies

Two robberies occurred earlier this month in unincorporated Norcross; another happened in Snellville this week.

Gwinnett Police have released surveillance photos of the men suspected in a string of robberies at Metro PCS stores, including two in unincoporated Norcross earlier this month and a third this week in Snellville.

Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said via email that photos taken during robberies on Sept. 1 at the Metro PCS store at 4142 Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Sept. 7 at the store at 5014 Singleton Road are believed to be of the same two black men.

“It is likely that these suspects are responsible for more armed robberies of Metro PCS stores in other metro Atlanta jurisdictions,” Smith said in the email, .

Smith said both Norcross robberies had similarities. Two men entered the stores. One distracted an employee, the other pulled out a black revolver and both took undisclosed amounts of money.

During the Sept. 1 robbery, the two men, one wearing a white tank top, made employees go into a back room and the men ran to a waiting vehicle — a 2001 white Monte Carlo — driven by a third suspect. On Sept. 7, the two men, one wearing a red jacket, fled on foot.

“Based on the suspect descriptions, security footage, and the method of operation, these are believed to be the same suspects from the robbery on September 1, 2011,” according to Smith.

Smith said according to the investigation by the Snellville Police Department, the tag number of the vehicle may be Georgia BPC 8692. In the Snellville robbery, two men entered the store, robbed it at gunpoint, and drove away in a white Monte Carlo driven by a third man.
