Police: Man Mentions Selling Marijuana to Cops, Gets Busted After Search Warrant

Inside the Police Reports: The information slipped out when the man was answering questions about a domestic disturbance in the Norcross area.

A Norcross man and woman were arrested on drug charges after he admitted he sold marijuana when police questioned him about another incident.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, officers responded to an aggravated domestic disturbance late last month at a home on the 1300 block of Gale Drive in unincorporated Norcross.

Thanh Tuan Lee Vu, 20, told police he had sold marijuana to the victim in the incident on at least two occasions, with one of those times being earlier that day.

The information prompted police to request a search warrant. After getting the go-ahead, officers searched the home and found marijuana in various places in a storage room that was used to house a small puppy owned by Vu and his girlfriend, Tu Phuong Nguyen, 20.

Police located two bags of marijuana and a scale in plain sight. A jar of marijuana also was found inside a stuffed animal in a large box, and there were empty Styrofoam cups with marijuana residue. Officers collected a box of plastic bags and two cell phones as evidence.

Because Nguyen told police that she occasionally accessed the storage room to walk her dog, she was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Vu was arrested on the same charge, in addition to charges of driving while license was suspended/revoked, pointing a gun or pistol at another, possession of a weapon during a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, violation of probation, and failure to appear, according to Gwinnett County jail records.
