Officers Find $500K Worth of Marijuana in Home

Gwinnett County Police uncovered the plants in a man's bedroom in Peachtree Corners, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.

Gwinnett County Police found nearly $500,000 worth of marijuana plants in a man's home in Peachtree Corners, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.

Officials told the GDP that they received a tip about the drug operation last week. When police arrived at the home on the 6000 block of Courtside Drive last Tuesday, they immediately smelled marijuana when the homeowner, 52, opened the door.

Officers asked to go in, and the homeowner complied, according to the article. Officers found and confiscated a marijuana laboratory found in a bedroom, complete with lamps, timers and plants.

Cpl. Jake Smith of Gwinnett police told the Post that the plants were worth $489,000, and 148 grams of processed marijuana was found, too.

The homeowner was charged with possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute. He was released on a $2,400 bond from the Gwinnett County Jail, says the article.
