Pizza Delivery Man Robbed

A Pizza Hut delivery man was robbed last week during the last order of his route, says police report.

A Pizza Hut delivery man was allegedly robbed last week during the last order of his route.

According to the Gwinnett County police report, the man was delivering pizzas on the late evening of Nov. 28 in unincorporated Norcross. He was a 63-year-old working at the Pizza Hut on 6050 Singleton Road.

He arrived at his last location, Indian Trail Apartments at 1100 Indian Trail Lilburn Road, to make a delivery to a woman in the 2100 building.

As he walked to the building with the order, he told police, he approached a black female sitting on the stairs. Taking the food and drinks, she told him she made an order for Coke instead of Pepsi, which he had brought.Β

She then produced a small silver handgun, pointed it at the victim, and demanded his cell phone and the money from his pocket.

After he complied, the suspect told him to go down the stairs as she ran to the top floor. He didn't see exactly where she went on the top floor.

He told police that he immediately got into his vehicle, drove back to Pizza Hut, and called authorities to report the crime.

When placing the order, the female caller gave an additional phone number because her phone was about to shut off, says the report. Gwinnett police called the two numbers, but they both went straight to voicemail.

Officers also checked the apartments in the 2100 building, but were not able to locate anyone matching the suspect's description. Police determined the apartment number for the delivery was actually vacant.

The victim told police that the woman who robbed him was approximately 5'7", 130 pounds and between the ages of 25 and 30. She wore a dark blue jacket and a black durag on her head, he added.
