Suspect Arrested, Charged in Norcross Shooting of Man in His Driveway

Demarcus Andrew Morris, of Norcross, is charged with a string of 14 armed robberies.

Police have arrested a Norcross man and charged him in the shooting and armed robbery of a man in his own driveway.

The incident happened in the 1000 block of Traymore Drive around 4:15 a.m. on July 19. In the course of the armed robbery, the victim was shot twice.

Gwinnett County police released a sketch of the man, and by July 21 a suspect was in custody. According to WSB Radio that man is Demarcus Andrew Morris, of 720 Wynhollow Trace Apartments, in Norcross.

He was charged with 21 separate counts, including 14 counts of armed robbery, according to jail records. He is currently being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Although some of Morris' counts carry bond amounts, the armed robberies do not.

WSB Radio reported that Morris may face additional charges.
