Norcross PD Creates Spanish Facebook Page

The city police department has launched a version of its social media page for the Hispanic and Latino community.

The Norcross Police Department recently launched a Spanish Facebook page.

The new social media page was created in an effort to reach out to the Hispanic community, according to a news release. Data from the 2012 U.S. Census Bureau shows that 39.4 percent of the city of Norcross' population is Latino of Hispanic.

“The Norcross Police Department is committed to providing professional law enforcement services to all of its residents and visitors," said Norcross Police Chief Warren Summers in the release. "It is very important to us that members of the Hispanic community have trust and confidence in the Norcross Police Department. For that reason, we are exploring new ways to reach out to them. One way we hope to accomplish this, is with our new Facebook page in Spanish.”
