No Injuries Reported in Apartment Fire

A fire from Sunday night has been listed as accidental.

No injuries were reported from a Sunday night accidental apartment fire in unincorporated Norcross.

The fire department responded to a townhome complex at 5600 block of Executive Way near Mitchell Road on March 4 at 9:56 p.m., according to a press release from Gwinnett County Fire spokesman Eric Eberly.

Crews were able to quickly put the fire under control on the two-story townhouse. They also entered the unit to fight the flames and search for victims.

The townhouse has significant damage, and the adjoining units also have some minor smoke and water damage.

The fire has been listed as accidental. The press release says the tenant, while moving in to the apartment, accidentally placed boxed items on top of a stove, which was turned on.
