Witness Still Sought in Gwinnett Homicide

Monique Marlowe died from a gunshot Friday, Sept. 21, as she was working at Hertz Rental Car.

Gwinnett County Police homicide investigators believe the when and where of a deadly shooting that killed a Duluth woman Friday, Sept. 21 may lead them to a witness.

Police say Monique Marlowe, 24, of Duluth, died of a single shot while she was cleaning a car in the back of the Hertz Rental Car location at 3492 Satellite Blvd., where she was an employee.

The business is located near the Gwinnett County Transit pick-up/drop-off hub, not far from Gwinnett Place Mall in unicorporated Duluth. The shooting took place between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

“Based on the time of day and location, investigators believe that someone in the area of the bus depot most likely saw the incident,” Police spokesman Cpl. Ed Ritter said in a press release.

Before Marlowe was transported to the hospital, where she later died, she told police she was approached by a “young black man wearing a light blue shirt,” according to a police press release.
