News Nearby: Accused Child Murderer Brought Back to Gwinnett from Mexico
Christian Vasquez was tracked down in Mexico for the 2007 murder of a 3-year-old girl in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Accused child murderer Christian Vasquez is now in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
According to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office's website, Vasquez was booked into the jail Thursday at 9:21pm.

Vasquez was arrested July 2012 in Puebla, Mexico, following a joint investigation by Mexican authorities, The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, The Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Department of Justice.
On June 21, 2008, arrest warrants for Vasquez were obtained, charging him with the murder of a three year old girl at a home on Stillwater Lane in unincorporated Lawrenceville. The crime occurred in either January or February of 2007, but was not reported to police until June 2008.

Investigators say the child died from a skull fracture to the back of the head caused by blunt force. Vasquez allegedly then hid the child's body in the attic.
