Multiple Storage Units Broken Into at CubeSmart in Norcross

Inside the Police Reports: Graffiti was reportedly found at the Medlock Bridge location last month, too.

Multiple storage units have been reportedly broken into at the CubeSmart in Norcross in the past few weeks.

According to Norcross Police reports, there have been at least three burglary incidents reported at the 3345 Medlock Bridge Rd. location from April 22 to April 29, but some of the actual burglaries could go as far back as April 14.

One woman, 27, told authorities her unit could have been broken into any time between April 22 to April 29, when she arrived at the storage center. The report states someone had forced entry on the unit and took $1,500 worth of items: her TI-86 calculator, five flash drives, a Kindle NOOK, a CD player and $1,000 worth of medication.

In another incident, a 24-year-old told police that her shoes and curling iron set were taken some time between April 14 and April 25. She had reported on the earlier date that her unit had damage to it, but when she went to the storage facility last Thursday, she found the lock was still on as if she had applied it.

From April 18 to April 25, a third woman said she had her $600 Sony VAIO computer stolen. This burglary also was listed as having forced entry.

In addition to the burglaries, the manager reported to authorities that there was graffiti painted on one of the walls on the evening of April 29. She told police that the vandalism was an ongoing issue at the storage facility. The report does not detail what kind of graffiti was on the wall.

In regards to the burglaries, a CubeSmart employee indicated to police that they check the units twice a day.
