Hotel Cashier Accuses Armed Robber of Having Fake Gun

Talk about a victim who has guts: The cashier at a Norcross-area hotel accused a masked armed robber of having a fake gun.

The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. on a Tuesday in November at the Intown Suites at 1950 Willow Trail Pkwy. The cashier, 55, was in the front office about to transfer money from the register to the safe. She told police that she was opening the register drawer when she heard the office door slam.

The suspect had apparently entered and jumped onto the counter, pointed a black handgun at her and said, "Give me the money."

She pointed out to the suspect that she didn't think the gun was real, but he only continued to point it at her and restated his request. The victim handed him a $100 bill and he ran out of the office toward Indian Trail Road.

Two other employees working around the building told police they saw the suspect enter the office and heard him demand the money, too. The suspect actually bumped into one of the witnesses after the robbery and ran toward the Krystal restaurant parking lot, and then across Indian Trail toward the Super 8 motel.

She told police that believed the gun was a replica of a black handgun with a thin grip and a thin barrel. There was tape possibly wrapped around parts of the handgun.

The woman described the suspect as a 6'2" black male who had a slim build and weighed between 160 to 170 pounds. He was wearing black jeans, a light gray zip-up hoodie and a black skull cap pulled over his face. She also said the he had a very "pointy" line.

A partial boot print on a piece of paper from the counter was collected by police as evidence.
