More Than $2 Million Lost in Norcross Securities Fraud

Three men were arrested in connection to the case.

Georgia’s Secretary of State announced the arrest of three suspects in a securities fraud case involving a Norcross area business.

Officials received a tip earlier in the year about Norcross-based Bright Ideas Entertainment, Inc., according to a release from Secretary of State Brian Kemp’s office.

About 30 investors, mostly from Georgia, lost more than $2 million in connection with the entertainment company, which has a listed address of 1505 Pavilion Pl., in an unincorporated area of Norcross off Steve Reynolds Boulevard.

Three men solicited numerous investors in their business, even though they were unlicensed, the release said. The men allegedly used “deceitful and untrue representations in investment contracts,” trying to convince the investors that they were covered against any losses.

On Nov. 18, William Anthony Hollins and Tene Davis were arrested in connection with the case. On Nov. 21, Daniel High was also arrested.

William Hollins was charged on six counts of selling unregistered securities, six counts for the sale of securities by an unregistered agent, six counts of fraud in the sale of a security, and six counts of theft by deception. Tene Davis was charged on three counts of each of the violations listed for Hollins, according to the Secretary of State’s office. High was also charged on six counts of each of the violations listed.

“I would like to thank Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter and cooperating law enforcement agencies for their assistance with the arrest of these individuals,” said Secretary Kemp in a statement. “Georgia’s law enforcement agencies play a significant role in helping the Secretary of State’s Office protect our state’s investors from fraud.”

The Roswell and East Point Police Departments also assisted in the case.

Any additional victims are asked to contact the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office.
