Meadowcreek Student to Be Laid To Rest Saturday

Johlonda Lindsey died last Sunday in a car wreck on the way to an after-prom party.

Johlonda Lindsey, the Meadowcreek High student last weekend, will be laid to rest Saturday, according to 11Alive.

According to the report, a viewing is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home, located at 914 Scenic Highway in Lawrenceville.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the New Mercies Christian Church, located at 4000 Five Forks Trickum Road in Lilburn.

Lindsey was in the car with three classmates going to a prom after-party when the collision occurred. While traveling on Steve Reynolds Boulevard near Beaver Ruin Road around 12:25 a.m. Sunday, the car crashed into another vehicle going in the opposite direction. Lindsey died on site, and four other students, including the driver in the other vehicle, were injured.

Dejon Wideman, the driver of the car Lindsey was in and a Meadowcreek student, , three counts of serious injury by vehicle, improper lane change and reckless driving, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's docket book.

According to faculty and students at Meadowcreek, Lindsey was a popular junior student on the track team. At Monday's of the school's existence, while at the mic.
