Man Robbed at Gunpoint While Having a Smoke

A resident of a Norcross townhome complex was just outside his house when two men approached him and asked for his money.

A man was robbed at gunpoint when he stepped outside to have a smoke in his own apartment complex.

The man, residing at Waverly Manor Townhomes at 5830 Buford Highway, was smoking on a picnic bench around 8 p.m. on Nov. 21 when the incident occurred, according to the Norcross Police report.

Someone behind him said not to move, the victim said, but he turned around and saw two men wearing dark-colored pants and hooded sweaters. One of them also had a gun, the report says.

The armed man told the victim to give him all his money. The victim said he didn't have any money, so the suspect then demanded for his wallet. The victim complied, and the two suspects left, running toward Cemetery Street. He then called 911.

Through Gwinnett County K-9 units and police interviews with residents, Norcross officers narrowed down one of the suspects to a man residing in the same apartment complex but no arrests have been made yet in the case.
