Man Gets Shot at While Waiting for Girl From Call Line

A man claims three people were shooting at him at America's Best Inn after he waited seven hours to meet a Quest Hotline girl.

After waiting seven hours to meet a Quest Hotline girl at , a Norcross man reported men were shooting at him earlier this month.

Around 1 a.m. on Dec. 9, a Gwinnett County police officer approached two men who were running near the intersection of Oakbrook Parkway and Live Oak Parkway in unincorporated Norcross.

While one of the them ran away, the other told police, "They're after me!" and explained that three unknown males had been shooting at him at the America's Best Inn at 6045 Oakbrook Parkway.

The victim, 32, continued to tell police that he went to America's Best to meet a woman named "Juicy," whom he just met over the phone via the Quest Hotline. They had talked on the phone at 4 p.m. and were supposed to meet at the inn an hour and a half later. After walking from his house, he said, he waited at the front of the inn, but she never showed.Β

He started asking people around the hotel if they knew her, and a group of males on the second floor told him to check in one of the rooms. In the room, they too denied knowing where she was, so he went back into the hallway. He turned around and noticed another man pointing a gun at him, so he took off running, which was when he met the police officer.

When the officer asked him why he expected the girl to still be at the hotel nine hours after their phone call, he couldn't give an answer. He said he also had no idea who had been running near him.

The officer ran his driver's license in the system and discovered that the man was on probation. His license was also suspended for failure to appear on a control substance charge, which brought up a red flag because the inn is known for drug activity, according to the report. The man said he was telling the truth and denied going there for drugs, however.

The officer searched his cell phone, says the report, but there were no text messages at all in his inbox. No calls to the Quest Hotline were found, either.

Three shell casings and a bullet fragment were found in the second story hallway of the hotel.
