Ex-Business Partner Fights Owner Over Paint

Inside the Police Reports: The former partner threatened his life and fought him with a knife.

The owner of a Norcross company said his ex-business partner cut him with a knife and repeatedly threatened his life because of an issue involving paint last month.

According to the Norcross Police report, the owner pulled into his business on the 5200 block of Brook Hollow Parkway one Monday morning. He noticed his former partner was parked and sitting in his car in the parking lot.

The ex-business partner went up to the other man and said he was going to kill him, according to the victim. He then lunged at the owner and began to physically attack him while still in the car. The suspect also pulled out a 4-inch pocket knife and cut the victim's neck and shirt.

In defense, the owner eventually was able to kick the aggressor in the face. When he did this, the ex-business partner said he was going to hunt down his family and hurt them.

Once the owner was able to push and kick the man out of the car, he closed his door and locked it so that the main aggressor would leave. Once the other man left the parking lot in his own car, the victim called 911 and followed him onto the road. The dispatcher advised the man to stop following him, so he complied and went back to his shop.

Warrants were obtained for the suspect, and he was arrested the same day. His charges include aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during a crime and hold for immigration.

While the two have had quarrels in the past, the victim told police that the main reason why the ex-business partner was mad this time is because the owner wouldn't let him use his Sherwin Williams account. The suspect apparently has a $1,800 balance that he refuses to pay, according to the owner.
