Man Disrobed on Middle School Campus

On March 17, a man took all of his clothes off in the Summerour Middle School parking lot.

Several weeks ago, a man drove onto the campus of Summerour Middle School, got out of his car and disrobed. A teacher spotted the naked man in the parking lot and notified officials. An investigation is currently underway.

“He obviously had no business being at Summerour and had never been seen there before,” said Jorge Quintana, spokesperson for Gwinnett County Public Schools.

The incident happened between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on March 17, according to a Gwinnett County Schools Police Crime Report.  School officials say that because the public indecency happened in the evening, when no students were at the school, parents were not notified about the incident.

Quintana said that a man came on the school grounds through the front drive in an older, white Toyota or Nissan with a sun roof, circling around to the back lot. He drove on and off campus several times before parking in the back area of the building, according to Quintana. The man was spotted across the parking lot by a teacher who had stayed to work late.

He was fully unclothed and just standing in the parking lot, Quintana says.

Some children were at a nearby baseball field, which is in a park and not on school ground, so not in the jurisdiction of the school system.

Because Summerour is within the city limits of Norcross, Norcross PD were alerted of the incident. Gwinnett County Public Schools Police listed the case as “active.”

The man is described in the report as a white male, about 140 pounds and 5 feet, 7 inches tall. Police believe he has light skin, black hair and black sideburns and is likely in his 20s.
