Man Brandishes Gun in 'Road Rage' Incident

A man claimed that a driver pulled a gun on him after a cut-off incident on I-85.

A man claimed that a driver pulled a gun on him after a cut-off incident on the highway earlier this month.

According to the police report, a 48-year-old man from Auburn, Ga., was driving southbound on I-85 around 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 13. The man told police that he was in the far right lane near the Beaver Ruin exit when a white 2012 Cadillac attempted to get off the exit.

The driver of the Cadillac changed his mind, though, and cut off the Auburn man in order to continue on I-85.

The man decided to change lanes shortly after, and the Cadillac followed suit. The Cadillac driver stuck up his middle finger, and the man returned the gesture.

The man in the Cadillac then pulled up next to the man, rolled down his window and displayed a silver pistol. The victim told police that the suspect pointed the pistol at him, and the victim slammed his brakes to avoid injury.

He followed the Cadillac to Pleasantdale Road but lost sight of him after awhile. The victim gave a tag number, and from the registration information, Lilburn Police attempted to make contact with the driver.Β
