Teen Arrested in Connection to Invading Home for Marijuana

Inside the Police Reports: After police found him at the scene of the crime, the 15-year-old admitted to police that he and three other men forced their way through the Norcross-area residence.

A 15-year-old Norcross teen was arrested late one Friday in connection to robbing a home in the area.

According to the Gwinnett Police report, officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Treehouse Parkway in unincorporated Norcross after receiving a call of a robbery in progress.

Police found one woman and two men in the living room, and another person was walking toward an officer in the hallway.

The woman, 42, and one of the men, 33, in the living room were both residents of the home. The other man in the living room, 24, was visiting. The person walking in the hallway, the 15-year-old, was part of the robbing crew, the residents told police.

Police spoke with the minor, who confessed that he and three friends had come to the apartment to steal some marijuana, which he apparently knew was in the house. All armed, the four forced their way through the residence, looked for the drugs but were interrupted by police knocking on the door. The three other men jumped out the back window to get away while he stayed.

The two residents told police that there weren't just four people, but at least five or six. They were on the way out of the home when the masked suspects pushed their way to the door and ordered everyone to the ground. They told the victims that they would shoot them if they moved.

The male resident said he had a gun against his head until police arrived, which was when three suspects left and the other tried to hide.

They took $200 cash from him, he told police. The police report does not detail if any marijuana was taken in the robbery.

The single suspect was transported to Gwinnett County headquarters where he was turned over to robbery investigation detectives. The police report does not state if the minor was charged in the incident.
